Max Cashout on Bonus Winnings, Explained
By James Burke · Updated Oct 14, 2026
A max cashout (also called a win cap or max conversion) is a bonus term that limits how much of a bonus or free-spin win can become withdrawable cash. It's one of three bonus rules that get mixed up, and it's separate again from a casino's weekly withdrawal limit. This page covers the cap only; for playthrough, see wagering requirements explained.
What "max cashout" means
When a bonus has a max cashout, there's a ceiling on how much you can convert to real money from winnings made with that bonus or those spins, even after you've met the wagering. Anything above the ceiling is removed when the bonus converts. The figure, and whether it applies at all, depends entirely on the offer's terms.
Max cashout vs wagering vs max bet: three different rules
Max bet: the largest single bet allowed while a bonus is active. Breaking it can void winnings.
Max cashout: the most a bonus-funded win can convert to cash.
An offer can have any combination of the three. Read all of them before you accept a bonus.
Worked examples (hypothetical)
These numbers are made up to show the maths. They are not any casino's offer.
Free spins with a $100 cap: spins win $260, you clear the wagering, and the cap converts $100 to cash. The other $160 is forfeited.
Deposit bonus capped at 5x the bonus: a $50 bonus has a $250 ceiling. Finish wagering with $400 in bonus winnings and $250 converts.
No bonus: you deposit $50, play with cash only and win $400. No bonus cap applies; only the casino's normal withdrawal rules do.
Free-spin and no-deposit wins: where caps are most common
Caps are usually tied to offers where the casino gives value with little or no deposit, such as free spins and no-deposit credits. Always check the specific offer's terms rather than assuming.
What happens to the excess
Where a cap applies, the amount above it is normally forfeited when the bonus converts to cash. Once the bonus has converted or been forfeited, the cap no longer applies to later play with your own cash.
High-roller angle: no bonus, no bonus cap. Withdrawal limits are a separate rule.
Declining a bonus means no bonus cap, no max-bet rule and no wagering. It doesn't remove the casino's withdrawal limits. At the Casino Rewards casinos I checked, the terms limit players who win "a sum substantially greater than their total purchases" across the network to $4,000 per week, adjustable at the casino's discretion (Luxury Casino terms, checked Oct 14, 2026). That limit applies whether or not you took a bonus. See high-limit casinos: the limits that matter and how long casino withdrawals take.
Where to find the clause in the terms
Open the casino's Terms and Conditions and the promotion's own terms.
Search the page (Ctrl+F or Find in page) for "maximum", "cap", "conversion", "max win" and "cashout".
Check the bonus and cash account section to see how winnings are split between bonus and cash.
Check the irregular play section for the max-bet rule.
If you can't find a clause, ask support in writing before you deposit and keep the reply.
Max bet: single bets of 25% or more of the bonus before play-through is met count as irregular play.
Wagering: 200x the bonus amount on the 1st and 2nd deposit bonuses, 30x from the 3rd.
Bonus balance ceiling: after the third deposit, if bonus winnings would push the bonus account above "the size of the all bonus amounts", the terms say "any excess winnings are credited to the Player's cash account". That sends the overflow to cash; it doesn't remove it.
Forfeiting: withdrawing cash during the first two deposits forfeits remaining bonus funds.
Jackpot spins: at Casino Kingdom, Yukon Gold and Grand Mondial, the terms say that if the Mega Money Wheel jackpot top prize is credited as bonus funds, the player can have it converted to cash by contacting support (terms checked Oct 14, 2026).
No. It's a bonus term. Cash-only play is still subject to the casino's normal withdrawal limits.
Is max cashout the same as the weekly withdrawal limit?
No. A max cashout limits what a bonus win converts to. A weekly limit controls how fast any balance is paid out.
Can I opt out of a bonus after depositing?
The Casino Rewards terms I checked don't describe an opt-out. They say withdrawing cash during the first two deposits forfeits remaining bonus funds. Ask support before you deposit if you don't want a bonus.
Do progressive jackpot wins count against a bonus cap?
It depends on the brand. Casino Kingdom, Yukon Gold and Grand Mondial publish the same Mega Money Wheel rule: if the jackpot top prize is credited as bonus funds, you can ask support to convert it to cash. I didn't find a jackpot rule in the Golden Tiger or Luxury Casino terms.
